Current Weather Situation and Future Developments
A deep low pressure system lies over the Southern Ocean, setting up a broad
fetch of westerly winds with several embedded cold fronts.  The first of these
cold fronts will cross the region tomorrow bringing showers and snowfalls and
strengthening westerly winds.  Snow showers will continue through to Wednesday
as a second front crosses the region later on Tuesday.  A return to fine weather
is forecast for the end of the week as the low moves out into the Tasman Sea.

Fine for the remainder of the day, chance of some light rain overnight. Strong
northwest winds.

Forecast for Monday   
Showers increasing through the day, falling as snow on peaks at first, but
lowering to around 1500 metres by evening. Strong and gusty northwesterly winds,
reaching gale force about the peaks late in the day.
