Did you know? The Snowies Trail Run Festival is back this year for an action-packed weekend of off-road action for the entire family. Taking in some of the most spectacular alpine mountain scenery, this trail run festival is back after a sell-out in previous years.
The Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA) Ultra Festival is also set to run in March 2021. The festival includes two trail runs – 25km and 50km, crossing through the scenic Kosciuszko National park. Known for being on the harder side of trail races, it’s in a beautiful setting, and the courses have been designed to showcase the very best of the Snowy Mountains.

Main Range Track
A spectacular 20 km loop and true mountain experience, the Main Range Track traverses the Australian high country on its way to Mt Kosciuszko - the highest mountain on the Australian mainland. Crossing the famous Snowy River and passing several beautiful glacial lakes, the sweeping 360° views and well-trodden track make this a bucket list trail run in Jindabyne.

Mill Creek Trail
Loved by trail runners and mountain bikers alike, Mill Creek is a popular singletrack trail located near Jindabyne. Starting from Jindabyne, this trail runs over the Damn wall to the other side of the lake to Tyrolean Village. Enjoy the views of Lake Jindabyne, the surrounding mountains, and the town itself as you take on a few climbs and mellow descents. For some extra fun, take some of the offshoot sidetracks that offer extra technicality and link back up to the main track.

Dead Horse Gap Trail
Dead Horse Gap running track is the ideal Snowy Mountains trail run for sweeping views of the Ramshead Range, Crackenback Mountain, and the Thredbo Valley, in Kosciuszko National Park. Offering a fun, high paced descent, you can take the Chairlift up at Thredbo and run all the way down and around Dead Horse Gap, winding down to the valley floor. Finish off with a great run along the river back to Thredbo for a well-earned rest.
